For a film that won the Oscar for Best Picture (1996), I think the "The English Patient" is underrated. At least anecdotally amongst my own circle of friends, many of whom conclude (without ever having seen it), that it's a treacly romance flick. It has elements of that, for sure, but there's much more to it, as well. It's equal parts intense war film and story of extreme heartbreak. It's also wryly very funny in many sequences. In another time and place, the driver that Ralph Fiennes speaks of in this scene would be a great UX writer...
Faya.
